On April 9, Piedmont University is preparing to show off academic excellence and student achievement through its upcoming symposium. This event is designed to showcase research and innovative projects from across multiple departments. The symposium provides students with an opportunity to present work developed throughout the academic year while engaging faculty, staff and fellow students in meaningful discussion.
This year’s symposium will have presentations representing a range of academic programs, allowing the attendees to learn topics on the sciences, humanities, business, communication, education and the arts.
Faculty mentors have closely advised students to improve their projects and prepare them for presentations.
The event also allows students to gain valuable experience in public speaking; gaining confidence in speaking on a topic they have spent months researching. It also allows them to learn how to respond to questions in an academic setting and how to answer in the right way.
Beyond the presentations themselves, the symposium reflects Piedmont University’s bigger commitment to forming intellectual curiosity and preparing students to contribute meaningful experiences in their future careers and jobs. The attendees can expect to see a collaborative atmosphere where ideas are intercollated and many accomplishments of students are created and celebrated.
The symposium has come as one of the university’s signature academic events each year, as it brings the community together to celebrate the dedication and achievements of its students. As April 9 approaches, the event will highlight not only academic success but also the passion that defines the Piedmont experience.
