Over the past decade, student work published on The Roar has earned state and national recognition from the Georgia College Press Association, the Society for Collegiate Journalists and the College Media Association. In 2025, students from The Roar earned a record 27 College Media Association Pinnacle Awards, the most of any small college (under 5,000) in the country, including a 1st place overall Pinnacle Award for “Best Student Media Website” from the College Media Association.
