The Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX on Feb. 8, 2026. The game was not particularly close as the final score was 29-13, with the Patriots’ first points coming after Bad Bunny’s groundbreaking halftime performance was finished.
While star Seahawks receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba was named the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year just three days prior, Patriots corner Christian Gonzalez showed well against him – allowing just four receptions on ten targets for 27 yards.
With Smith-Njigba quiet, the Seahawks relied on running back – and this year’s Super Bowl’s Most Valuable Player award recipient – Kenneth Walker III. Walker tallied 135 yards on 27 carries, averaging five yards per carry.
The Seahawks also benefitted from a historic defensive performance, recording six sacks and three forced turnovers.
Despite being unable to come back from the slow start, there were a few bright spots for the Patriots. Mack Hollins was able to haul in a 35-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter to make the score 19-7.
While this game was not as close as Super Bowl XLIX, the last time the Seahawks and Patriots faced off in the “Big Game”, fans witnessed a historic performance from the Seahawks’ defense, and fans opposed to the Patriots were blessed with a dominant win.
