Netflix has a wide variety of titles to choose from, but here are few suggestions for anyone in need of a good laugh.
One recommendation is the indie mockumentary entitled, “Teacher of the Year.”
It was released in 2014 and stars Matt Letscher and Keegan- Michael Key as the protagonists.
Letscher takes on the role of a high school English teacher named Mitch Carter that loves his job and his life at home, but he is given the opportunity to make more money after his victory as national teacher of the year.
Key, who is also famous for the Comedy Central show “Key and Peele,” plays the principal with a funny name that no one likes.
The movie is a reminiscent of shows like “The Office” and “Parks and Recreation” in terms of the comedy and writing style and the camera shots employed.
This movie is currently not rated.
Another movie written by and starring several Saturday Night Live actors called “Staten Island Summer.”
This movie is about a group of lifeguards that want to throw a huge party to end their summer at the local aquatic center.
SNL actors include Bobby Moynihan. Cecily Strong, Will Forte and Fred Armison.
This movie is definitely a late-night comedy reminiscent of movies like “American Pie” and “Wet, Hot American Summer.”
“Staten Island Summer” is rated R and intended for mature audiences only.
