Its senior year and I’m beyond excited. I can finally see the finish line, which seemed so far away until now. It’s so close, but yet so far away. There is only one hurdle I have to overcome to get my diploma, and that’s capstone. Capstone is the infamous senior project that all seniors have to complete to graduate. I thought capstone would never come, and here I am in the middle of mine.
I can’t believe it’s been four years. It feels like just the other day I was a freshman moving into GB on move-in day. I was young, naïve, and Ididn’t know much about the world. Now, I’m a young adult preparing to enter the adult world and make a name for myself. Oh, how times have changed, but first I need to pass capstone and graduate. As a mass communications student, capstone in a semester long process from completing six deliverables to the final presentation. I don’t really know what my fellow senior capstones entail, but I’m sure they are a process as well.
To my fellow seniors, hang in there. Don’t look upon your capstone or senior project as a burden. Think of it as an obstacle waiting to be overcome. Knowing that you can overcome this obstacle only prepares you to enter the real world. So, seniors stay positive. We are almost done. The finish line is in sight and graduation is on the horizon. We will soon be called class of 2014.
