The Festival of Trees is an event from Dec. 14 to Dec. 22 at the Classic Center, along with “The Nutcracker,” breakfast and pictures with Santa, crafts, and rollerskating. Piedmont College is participating in the Festival of Trees by donating a Candy Land Tree.
During the Festival of Trees event, people from the Athens society purchase their favorite tree and the money goes to the Extra Special People (ESP) organization. ESP’s motto is to “empower children and young adults with developmental disabilities to cultivate skills, self-confidence, and relationships through recreational therapy, community involvement, and the arts.”
