Men’s Soccer beat Huntingdon on Senior Day

The Piedmont men’s soccer team beat the Huntingdon Hawks on senior day 1-0. This win pushed the overall record for Piedmont to 6-8.

Huntingdon started off with two quick shots followed by several shots by PC.

With less than 15 minutes left in the first half, junior Vincent Thomas scored for Piedmont with an assist from freshman Jose Manny Silvano. This would end up being the game-winning goal

“It was a good, hard-fought game and an important win for us,” said Thomas.

In the end, Piedmont had nine fouls, nine shots, and six shots on goal. This is comparable to Huntingdon’s 14 fouls, six shots, and five shots on goal. Piedmont’s goalie sophomore Kenneth Hearn had five saves, and Huntingdon’s goalie freshman Sebastian Garcia had five saves as well.

“I thought it [the game] was good. We got a few injured kids, but it was part of the battle,” said head coach Jimmy Stephens.

Piedmont is scheduled to travel to North Carolina to face Greensboro College on Oct. 25.
