It’s an exciting year for The Navigator. Our staff developed a mission statement to “empower Piedmont students through unbiased and credible information,” and we are committed to seeing that happen.
What does this mean? We are diligently working to provide you, the students, with the information you can act upon. The media exists as an organ for change. We provide the information: it’s up to you to decide what to do with it.
We’re not here to belittle or build up the college. It’s our job to shed light on issues that matter to students. As Piedmont students, we deserve to know what is happening on campus – in the dorms and in the classroom.
This year, as a staff, we will be driven by this overall mission. First and foremost, we are here for the students of Piedmont College. Students, The Navigator is intended to be your voice and we want you to participate.
This year, we are also revolutionizing the way you consume student media at Piedmont.
The Roar, www.piedmontroar.com, is Piedmont’s new converged media site. We’ve teamed up with PC-60 and WRFP to offer interactive content like never before. We’re also expanding The Roar to social media sites, including Facebook and Twitter. Articles you find in the print edition will now be available online shortly after publication, with more photos, videos and other interactive features.
