Piedmont College will be saying “Thank you, next” to WebAdvisor in the Fall. Students will be making plans for their summer and fall semester 2019 classes in the new Self-Service Student Planning program. Due to the software company that provides WebAdvisor revoking their support of the system, WebAdvisor will no longer be in use once all the departments have made the adjustment to Student Planning.
“In order to maintain an online student registration process, it was imperative that we make the switch from WebAdvisor to Self-Service Student Planning,” said Courtney Thomas, Piedmont’s Registrar.
The Student Accounts and Financial Aid departments have already switched to Self-Service.
“Student Planning provides a centralized area for all student information,” said Thomas. “Having access to these resources gives students the tools they need to be responsible for completing the coursework needed for their degree.”
Student Planning is available on laptops, tablets and mobile phones, making it user-friendly. The Self-Service functions the same as WebAdvisor which include viewing transcripts and scheduling future courses, but it comes with updated features such as performing scenarios related to changing majors and requesting advisement reviews.
The Registrar’s Office will be hosting training opportunities for both students and faculty at the Athens and Demorest campuses and the Registrar’s office will provide extra assistance during the transition. Step-by-step guides and video tutorials are located on both the IT Registration website and the Registrar’s Office site on PilgrimNet. The link to Student Planning is currently accessible through WebAdvisor as well under the Student Planning tab.
