The closer we get to the end of the semester, the warmer it gets. Spring has finally come to Piedmont, and it’s brought some new trends along with it.
Starting off, almost everything has some kind of tassel or pom-pom attached to it. Bags in particular have little attachments like these, but they are slowly making their way onto clothing items, such as tops, skirts and dresses.
The tassels or pom-poms are usually some sort of bright color, contrasting with white or black. Pom-pom and tassel earrings are especially popular this year, so be on the lookout for those this season.
When it comes to patterns in the spring, floral is a given. As the legendary Miranda Priestly said ever so sarcastically in The Devil Wears Prada, “Florals for spring? Groundbreaking.”
This year, however, polka dots are rather popular. Usually, it’s the classic monochrome style with a pop of fresh bright colors. Polka dot skirts, dresses and even pants are all over stores.
Many of the styles from the past summer have made a comeback, such as cold shoulder tops and off-the-shoulder tops and dresses. Button down skirts are still extremely popular as are gladiator sandals. Hopefully the weather around here will finally get warm enough for us all to wear these new styles.
