Throughout October, Piedmont’s student-run campus activities board (CAB), Student Success advisers, the Conservatory of Music and staff will host events for students to attend and participate in.
Every Friday, Lane Hall will host Pop-in Fridays, offering students the opportunity to grab popcorn between classes from 10 a.m. to noon.
Stop by on Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 4 to 5 p.m. for a chance to meet Professor Lindsay Dilbeck at the president’s house.
Come out and support Piedmont’s Conservatory of Music on Oct. 2 for their first student recital at 11 a.m. Their second student recital is scheduled for Oct. 23 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Also, on Oct. 5 from 7:30 to 10 p.m., they will host an Appassionato Choir performance.
Do not forget Piedmont’s spirit week kicks off the week of Oct. 13.
Monday, Oct. 13 is Kick Off! Visit the welcome desk to pick up a foam finger and gear up for Welcome Week!
Tuesday, Oct. 14, is the Pride Walk and march. At 5 p.m., the march starts at the Commons welcome desk, then students can enjoy pizza, crafts and pride from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the Quad.
Wednesday, Oct. 15, is Leo’s birthday. Stop by the welcome desk in the Commons to decorate a cupcake, get your picture taken with Leo and wish the birthday boy a happy birthday.
On Thursday, Oct. 16, CAB will host a games and crafts night upstairs in the Commons. Students can enjoy complimentary snacks while playing card and board games and building puzzles from 6 to 9 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 17, is CAB’s Lion Up Friday, where students can come by the welcome desk in the commons to grab a goody bag.
On Wednesday, Oct. 22 and Thursday, Oct. 23, Student Success advisers will host From Procrastination to Productivity at the Commons welcome desk from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Students can stop by for motivational tips and strategies, grab academic supplies and enter a raffle for a chance to win a prize.
On Thursday, Oct. 23, from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m., CAB will be hosting a Halloween party filled with food, fun and scary rooms that will get you ready for spooky season in the GB dorm.
On Friday, Oct. 24, Piedmont will celebrate Global Handwashing Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Commons. Students can create their own soap and participate in fun learning activities that highlight the importance of washing their hands.
Finally, CAB will host a pumpkin decorating event on Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Commons. Students can decorate pumpkins while socializing and enjoying complimentary snacks, drinks and fun.
To wrap up the spooky season on Oct. 31, there will be a Trunk or Treat in downtown Demorest from 5 to 8 p.m. Piedmont clubs and organizations can sign up for a spot by emailing Cat Wiles.
