Piedmont University volleyball closed the 2024 season with a 6–19 record and a 6–10 record in the CCS. While the Lions struggled in non-conference matchups and neutral-site tournaments, they found a steadier footing against league opponents, picking up wins over LaGrange, Agnes Scott and Wesleyan. As the Lions prepare for the 2025 season, they should prepare for the new challenges with new goals in mind and fresh faces on the court.
Coming into a head coaching role in the summer of 2025, Kat Tatum returns to her home state of Georgia. A former collegiate athlete at Columbus State University, she most recently served as an assistant coach at the University of St. Thomas in Houston. Her return to Georgia marks a new chapter for the program as she prepares to work with her new team and set goals for her season.
“Although our record in years past doesn’t show it, our team has truly been putting in the work this season and we have already made so many new strides and improvements heading into the season,” stated senior team captain Katie Hubbard.
“To achieve our goals, we are going to have to work as a team 100% of the team rather than as individuals.”
Hubbard, who is eager to bring home a ring in her senior year, is hopeful with the addition of two fresh faces to the team–Lauren Carcito and Lucy Harvey–as they look to gain more wins this season and with the help of veteran players.
