Last summer, season six of Love Island broke the internet. Many people had never heard of the show until they came across it on social media.

Many memes were created throughout the season. Friendships were made as well. Three girls from the islanders gave themselves the group title of “powerpuff girls.” Those girls included Leah Kateb, JaNa Craig and Serena Page. This created controversy in the villa. The other islanders, who were girls at times, felt left out by this trio.

“You made your choice. You made your bed. Hump in it,” said Serena Paige. 

It became the most popular quote from season six. Page was known for speaking her mind to whoever she felt needed to hear it. Page would go on to win the season with Kordell Beckham, to whom she said the famous quote.

Life after the villa for the islanders did not go back to normal. Many islanders received record numbers of followers and stepped into fame. Peacock, the producer of Love Island, saw the newfound fame and created a spin-off, Love Island: Beyond the Villa.

 This show follows the lives of the season six islanders as they live in Los Angeles. It focuses on their new career, friendships of the village, fame and dating life outside of the islanders.

Although season six was a hit, it was not the most-watched season of Love Island. Season seven from this summer surpassed season six in viewership. Season seven became the most-watched Peacock original.
