2025 was a big year for Love Island. While the Peacock original show not only produced its most popular season to date, they released a spin-off, Beyond the Villa, following up with the islanders from last season.

With the show’s rise in popularity, people have gone back to watch season six to keep up with the new spin-off. The islanders from season six have now been thrust into the public eye, more so than they originally signed up for, with one islander in particular, Aaron Evans, saying he wishes he had never been on the show to begin with. 

There have also been numerous negative consequences stemming from the popularity of this summer’s season seven, including multiple individuals being kicked off the show for offensive comments made years ago, facing public ridicule and subsequently defending themselves upon their return home. 

Jeremiah Brown and Huda Mustafa’s families were forced to turn off comments on their posts and address the negative comments on their social media accounts. However, Jeremiah and Huda themselves were completely unaware of the public’s views until they were able to return home.

Fans also looked into Austin Shepard’s past, discovering that the islander struggled with opioid addiction before joining the show, a topic he has since been repeatedly asked about.

Seeing that every winning couple from the show’s season finales is no longer together, it seems that the unsuspected drawbacks outweigh the provided chance for people to meet their soulmate.
