The rising 2025-26 school year is jam-packed with plenty of high expectations. However, some of Piedmont’s familiar faces will be absent from campus. With professor bowouts comes the introduction of new professors.
Piedmont’s Education, Nursing and Arts & Sciences Departments will see professor additions this year.
Tristan Dyer becomes a new face in the mass communications/film department as an assistant professor. He has previous experience in film production, as he earned a master’s degree in fine arts from the University of Southern California. Dyer is also a 2004 Iraq veteran.
Another new face on the Piedmont staff is Dr. Joshua Duggan, an assistant professor in the education department. Duggan has earned a bachelor’s degree from Kutztown University, a master’s of arts in teaching from Piedmont University and a doctorate from the University of Georgia.
Jessica Wiant also joins Duggan in the education department. Wiant obtained both a bachelor’s degree and an education degree specialist from the University of Georgia, as well as a master’s degree in school counseling at Liberty University.
Dr. Megan Boyd, assistant clinical mental health counseling professor, earned her bachelor’s, master’s of science and a doctorate from Georgia State University and Mercer University, respectively. Boyd is another new addition to Piedmont’s expansive, proficient staff.
These new additions and transitions are what make a university live. Though it is sad to see so many familiar faces leave, it is refreshing to introduce a new breath to campus grounds in the form of professors.
These are only a few of Piedmont’s new faces, but always remember to give these new professors in new positions a warm welcome to Piedmont!
