Piedmont promotes the university as an institution and a family community. Did you know about the hidden gems of Piedmont that help students now and outside of Piedmont?
A service that Piedmont University has is the Food Pantry located in Lane Hall. If there is a need for snacks, cleaning supplies and more, students are welcome to enter the Food Pantry in Lane Hall.
“Students can access the Community Cupboard in Lane Hall Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We also have a student food pantry on the Athens campus as well! We encourage all students to stop by and help themselves to anything they need!” said Ineke Dyer, the director of Student Services.
Another service mainly geared towards the graduating class is that even after graduation, alumni students can still contact Career Services for aid even if they have graduated from Piedmont. Career Services, after graduation, can provide services such as aid in interviews, advisement on applying to graduate programs and more. For more information, contact the Career Services offices.
A service that is done during the festive season is the Holiday Help for Students.
“This year, Piedmont faculty and staff supported nine students and 17 family members for a total of 26 people,” said Ineke Dyer, who was in charge of the program this year. “It has been great to see this program grow and for the Piedmont community to support their students and their families during the holiday season.”
Holiday Help for Students helps bring joy to families who may be unable to have a happy holiday. For students whose families may need help during the holiday season during November, there will be flyers and a post on the Piedmont app to announce how students can fill out a request form. Keep a look out during November for more information.
