On March 22, Piedmont University will be hosting the seventh annual Georgia Bigfoot Conference in the Student Commons. The doors will open at 8 a.m., and the conference will conclude at 5:30 p.m.
Stacy Brown, the first keynote speaker of the event collected footage of what he believes to be Bigfoot while camping with his dad in May 2012. His footage was aired on the television show “Finding Bigfoot.”
The second keynote speaker Jessica Jones, “The Cryptid Huntress,” is a paranormal explorer radio show host who will be sharing her unexplained experiences with the paranormal.
Other speakers include:
- Mark Muncy, a best selling paranormal author.
- David Pardue, a bigfoot researcher.
- North Carolina Investigates Bigfoot Research Team.
- Matt Delph, the “Bad Ass Monster Hunter.”
- Sonya Thompson, the number one lady zombie from The Walking Dead.
- Dr. John Stamey, author and radio personality.
Dr. John Stamey is the conference chair of the Georgia Bigfoot Convention and hosts a podcast titled “ScaryCast.” Stamey expects between 400 and 500 attendees at this year’s event due to the attendance in previous years.
On Friday March 21, R.M. Rose Distillery in Mount Airy, Georgia will host a reception for the conference from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Starting at 7 p.m., Jessica Jones and Matt Delph will host Bigfoot Round Tables for open discussions to all attendees.
Tickets to the Georgia Bigfoot Conference cost $20. Piedmont students and staff can attend the event for half price with an accurate form of identification. Tickets can be purchased at the door of the event or online at www.georgiabigfootconference.com.
