By popular YikYak demand, a Speed Dating Event will be hosted this coming Feb.13 at 6 p.m. at the Swanson Center Lobby, a day before Valentine’s Day.
Students took to YikYak, suggesting an event that would provide a fun way to get to know people, romantically or in a friendly way. The Green and Gold committee heard the pleas for the event, thus hosting the Speed Dating Event with the addition of the chance to win raffle prizes. The prizes will be a Casa Bariachi Gift Card, movie tickets and Athens Rock Lobsters Hockey Tickets. Get a prize that can give you a chance to ask out who you meet at the Speed Dating event!
The event will be hosted by the Green and Gold committee, and emceed by Dr. Joe Dennis. “I don’t know what to expect. We have never done anything like this before, but I can guarantee that it will be a fun night,” said Dr. Dennis.
“I am very excited to see what Dr. Dennis cooks up!” said Eric Edmonson, a senior sports communications major.
So, if you have a chance to stop by the Speed Dating Event, it will be on Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. in the Swanson Center Lobby. “And maybe, just maybe, we can find the next perfect Piedmont Couple” mentioned Dr. Dennis. Additionally, the Piedmont Theatre Department will be showcasing their spring musical “9 to 5” after the Speed Dating event.
