With the start of colder weather starts the Christmas movie marathons. “A Christmas Prince” is a new holiday movie airing on Netflix.
“Predictable but sweet, ‘A Christmas Prince’ is pleasant enough to pass the time during the holiday season,” said Rotten Tomatoes.
The movie starts out with a journalist named Amber struggling to come up with a new story to write for the newspaper. The current most interesting story around that time is the story about the Prince of Aldovia.
The Prince of Aldovia, has seemed to disappear since his recent father’s death but no one knows why, and people are beginning to speculate. Amber decides that she is going to write a story on what happened to the Christmas Prince but, in order to write this story, Amber has to go to Aldovia.
When Amber arrives in Aldovia, she decides to do some stalking around the castle where she runs into one of the workers. The worker then asks her if Amber is the new tutor for Princess Emily to which her response was yes.
While it seems like it’s going to be a great idea since she will be closer to the prince, tutoring definitely has its challenges with Emily. The sister is difficult to work with at first, but she starts to warm up to Amber, which ends up becoming a beautiful friendship.
Since getting closer with Emily, Amber also has been connecting with Prince Richard. They start to get close with one another, and that’s when Amber finds out that Richard is actually adopted by his parents, which would mean he is not next in line to be the king.
Amber takes those papers back to her room, but Richard’s cousin Simon found the papers and realized that Amber is not Emily’s tutor. Simon tells everyone that Richard is not related to the king’s family and therefore he should be crowned king. Richard is distraught knowing he will not be crowned and has to watch Simon then get ready to be crowned.
Amber then decides she needs to find a way to prove that before the king died, he said he wanted Richard to be the next king. She ends up finding an ornament that the king made and in the ornament, she finds a secret detail stating that Richard is the next king.
Before Simon is crowned king, Amber comes in and declares that Richard should rightfully be the next king which leads to him finally getting crowned and with Amber’s job completed she flies home. She ends up quitting her journalist job because they wouldn’t publish the story saying it was boring.
So in the end, Amber decides to write a blog story about Richard and the entire situation but little does she know, Richard reads this blog story. He surprises Amber at her house, and proposes to her. She gladly accepts the proposal but this is not the end of their story, there are two other movies that follow the journey of Amber and Prince Richard, “A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding” and “A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby.”
