Country music’s biggest night looked a little different this year with a third member crashing the Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning hosting duo. Last year’s Entertainer of the Year, Lainey Wilson, was announced to be added as a host for this year’s Country Music Awards.
Here is the official rundown of the 58th CMA winners.
Musical Event of the Year
Before the television cameras were rolling, it was announced that Ella Langley and Riley Green won Musical Event of the Year with their song “you look like you love me” on the red carpet.
Single of the Year
The first televised award went to Chris Stapleton for Single of the Year with his song “White Horse.”
Musician of the Year
Another off-camera award went to guitarist Charlie Worsham for Musician of the Year.
Song of the Year
Adding another award to his collection for the night, Chris Stapleton won Song of the Year again for his song “White Horse.”
New Artist of the Year
Megan Moroney performed for the first time on the CMA’s big stage with “Am I Okay?” then won her first ever CMA for New Artist of the Year.
Music Video of the Year
Host Lainey Wilson added another CMA to her ever-growing collection with the Music Video of the Year award for her song “Wildflowers and Wild Horses.”
Vocal Group of the Year
Old Dominion took home the Vocal Group of the Year award.
Album of the Year
Cody Johnson’s album “Leather” beat out fellow country stars to win him the Album of the Year award for the first time in his career.
Vocal Duo of the Year
Brooks & Dunn took home the award for Vocal Duo of the Year. They won this award every year from 1992 to 2006, with the exception of the year 2000.
Male Vocalist of the Year
For the third time that night, Chris Stapleton took home another award, this time for Male Vocalist of the Year.
Female Vocalist of the Year
Adding another CMA to her collection, Lainey Wilson took home the award for Female Vocalist of the Year.
Entertainer of the Year
Taking the title from last year’s winner, Lainey Wilson, Morgan Wallen won the Entertainer of the Year award. Wallen was not in attendance at the CMA’s this year, and at this point, nobody seems to know why.
