Men’s Soccer
The men’s soccer team season has been a tough season, with a record of 7-7-2. They have had some very close games and have worked very hard in the fall season.
“It hasn’t gone as we hoped it would, but we’re putting in the effort and hopefully all that effort will show postseason,” said junior Collin Sheeler, goalie for the Lions.
The men’s team is still competing in conference events and is currently ranked sixth in the conference. They compete in the first round of the playoffs on Oct. 30 at Asbury University in Kentucky. The men’s soccer team is hoping to continue their games and be able to finish strong in their conference this year.
Women’s Soccer
The women’s soccer team has had a great season so far. In their conference, they are 5-2-1. They have had some big wins this season as well. They had a big win against Belhaven 2-1 and a win against Lagrange 4-0.
“We were extremely happy with the outcome from the Belhaven game and the Lagrange game. For the reason that we had never beaten Belhaven before,” said sophomore Gretchen Dedolph.
The women’s soccer team is currently the No. 2 Seed in the CCS Tournament. They will be competing for the championship starting Nov. 6. The Lions are looking to finish the season with a conference championship win.
Women’s Volleyball
So far, the women’s volleyball team has had a tough year for their fall season. They had a big win against LaGrange, eventually coming back from a five-set game and defeating LaGrange in the end. Even after falling short of Covenant, the women’s volleyball team still made a comeback in the end.
“Our win against LaGrange was extremely refreshing. That game has described our season; very up and down but we will always overcome it and win at the end”, said senior Bryn White.
The women’s volleyball team definitely had its ups and downs this season. With their win against LaGrange, it gave them some confidence to compete well in the conference championship. Their next game is on Oct. 30 against Agnes Scott.
Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country

“Getting runner of the week for a 3rd time is a great achievement for all the hard work I’ve been putting in this year. It’s a great honor and privilege to represent Piedmont, and I’m glad that my talents are showing that and giving our school some recognition,” said Capelle
