Women’s Golf
The women’s golf team faced a competitive field this weekend at the MCC Women’s
Intercollegiate in Montgomery, Alabama. Against the fierce competition in day one of the tournament, Piedmont women’s golf sat in a seventh-place tie out of 12 teams. The collective effort throughout the Lady Lions is admirable, but one standout performance resulted in a record-breaking tournament.
Junior Erin Donovan showcased her impressive abilities on day one of the tournament, shooting 66 (-6), ultimately breaking the previous record she put up during the 2024 USA South Championship. Notably, Donovan carded four birdies on the back nine, finishing with a remarkable 32.
“Erin is a talented player with a stellar work ethic,” said head coach Hannah Satterfield. “However, I think what contributes to Erin’s success is her ability to have a strong mental game, which is very important in the sport of golf.”
The Lady Lions will next compete at the Alamo City Classic in San Antonio, Texas, on Oct. 7-8.

Women’s Cross Country
The Piedmont women’s cross-country team traveled to Spartanburg, S.C. to compete in the Converse Kickoff on Sept. 21. Although the women’s team did not record an official team result in the race because of their lack of representation primarily due to injuries, the meet was a good tune-up for the Lady Lions.
“The meet helped all of us get another race under our belt,” says junior runner Bella Caccamo. This event helped the team “shoot for another goal to better ourselves.”
