More than 400 students presented their academic research at the 6th annual Piedmont Symposium on April 11.
Students across all majors delivered oral presentations, presented their creative works and showcased their academic research on posters throughout the day. Faculty served as judges for the event, sharing their feedback with students on their research.
“The Symposium is a highlight of the year at Piedmont University. It’s a chance for students to share their academic achievements and endeavors,” said Dr. Julia Schmitz, Associate Professor of Biology, and lead organizer for the event. “They also gain valuable skills as they prepare and deliver their presentations, answer questions, and interact with judges.”
Piedmont students wrap up presenting their Symposium poster projects in a gallery format at noon on Thursday, April 11. Students spend months researching and crafting their projects in preparation for the campus-wide event recognizing students for their hard work. All students, no matter what major or concentration they may be in, are encouraged to present their findings at Symposium for capstone, extra credit and course assignments.
