Now that the college basketball regular season has ended. It is time for one of the biggest events that the NCAA has to offer.
March Madness is upon us.
This means millions of brackets across the country will be submitted and hoping that one of them is a perfect bracket. There has only been one perfect bracket in the past 10 years and maybes one is coming. This tournament is one of the craziest tournaments that college sports has to offer because you will never know the outcome of the game.
In past tournaments, there have been upsets like 16-seeded FDU winning over the one-seeded Purdue. This shocked the world and possibly this tournament there will be more shockers.
Students across campus of Piedmont University have given their predictions on which team will win March Madness.
“I believe Duke will win March Madness,” said senior accounting and business analytics major Will Donaldson. “They have been on a run lately in the ACC after struggling early as teams in the past. They have trained harder earlier in the season and been tired then training a little less hard to have more energy towards the end. Overall they have a great push in the tournament.”
“For sure UConn will take it home,” said junior biology major Glynn Morgan. “They are a very well rounded team and possess the most talent and depth compared to the other teams.”
“I would probably say UNC,” said senior sports and fitness administration major Ross Coppedge. “This would be the best pick out of the whole tournament. If people don’t choose them, then they are going to lose their bracket. They are the most experienced team by far in the tournament.”
Most students are going for the top dogs of the tournament, but this is March Madness, anything can happen.
“I think Alabama might sneak in and win,” said freshman nursing major Murphy O’Brien. “They’ve got a super fast-paced, dynamic offense, and they average almost 100 points per game. They don’t have the best defense, but their offense makes up for it.”
“UConn hands down,” said sophomore accounting major Brandon Randall. “They are the hottest teams at the moment and they are one of the best family oriented teams so they play really well together.”
So many predictions that possibly be good or possibly turn out bad. Will there be an upset? Is there a chance for someone in this country to get a perfect bracket? Who knows! Make sure to watch the games on www.ncaa.com
