Women’s Basketball
There is no pumping the brakes for the Lady Lions this season.
Currently, the Lady Lions hold a 12-6 overall season record and a 6-3 conference record. They are also currently on a 3-game winning streak.
“Our season is going good so far,” said senior Lu Woolfolk. “We’ve changed a few things offensively which has already shown to help us a lot. I’m excited to see how the next few games go when we play teams in our conference for the second time.”
Woolfolk has been an important factor to the team the last three years. Last season, she competed in 26 contests and made 24 starts. Woolfolk also led the team with 75 assists, placed third on the team with 30 steals and tailed 103 while grabbing 106 rebounds.
The team looks to finish out the season strong and compete well in the upcoming Collegiate Conference of the South Tournament which begins on Feb. 20.
The Lady Lions will conclude the regular season on Feb. 17 at home vs. Berea College at 2 p.m.
Men’s Basketball
The Lions are looking for some motivation to finish out the season.
Currently, the Lions hold a 9-9 overall record and a 1-5 conference record. The Lions are also currently on a 5-game losing streak.
“We have had a tough start in conference play,” said senior Noah Reardon. “We still have a lot left to prove.”
Reardon has been creating success on the team for the past 3 years. Last season, Reardon was second on the team in points with 278, and scoring average, adding 10.3 points per game. He saw action in 27 games with 10 starts. Reardon also earned awards last season including CCS Second Team All-Conference, NABC Honors Court and CCS All-Academic Team.
The Lions started off their season by breaking the record for best Piedmont start with a record of 8-2. The Lions will be looking to find that same motivation and drive to turn their season back around, and take a chance at the Collegiate Conference of the South Tournament beginning Feb. 20.
“Our goal is to win the conference championship, and this is the team to do it,” said Reardon.
The Lions will finish their regular season on Feb. 17 at home vs. Berea College at 4 p.m.
