Men’s Soccer
On Oct. 9, the Lions recognized their two seniors before continuing the excitement by taking a win over visiting Toccoa Falls. The Lions gifted their seniors an 8-1 win, with both seniors contributing to the eight goals.
Senior Brady Puckett has scored five career goals and is currently third on the team in goals scored. Puckett plans to graduate with a degree in business management.
Senior Ricardo Ruiz has appeared in 54 games in his career at Piedmont, 37 of which Ruiz was in the starting lineup. Since his freshman year, he has been a staple in coach Jimmy Stephens’s midfield. Ruiz plans to graduate with a degree in biology.
Women’s Soccer
On Oct. 14, the Lions celebrated their twelve graduating seniors prior to their game against Asbury. They secured a 2-0 win against a soon-to-be conference foe.
Senior Emma Williams delivered the game-winning assist in the Lions CCS Semifinal win over Covenant in 2022. She plans to graduate with a degree in communication sciences and disorders.
Senior Gabbie Hayes has six game-winning goals out of her 10 career goals. Hayes has been an Academic All-Conference honoree twice and plans to graduate with a degree in nursing.
Senior Breanna Nine has tallied two career goals in her three years at Piedmont. She was also named to the USA South All-Academic Team in 2021 and plans to graduate with a degree in nursing.
Senior Elissa Lotter has played in over 75 contests while at Piedmont, scoring six career goals. Lotter was on the CCS All-Conference 2nd Team and the CCS All-Conference Tournament team in 2022. She plans to graduate in December with a degree in elementary education.
Senior Jillian Addy has played in 25 games in her collegiate career, and she has made the All-Academic Conference team three times. Addy plans to graduate with a degree in exercise and sport science.
Senior Maddy Parris finished second on the team for most goals (4) in 2022. She has appeared in 45 contests so far over the course of her four years. She plans to graduate with a degree in applied health science.
Senior MG Gallarelli has played in over 66 games, 17 of which have been starts for the Lions. Gallarelli plans to graduate with degrees in neuroscience and psychology.
Senior Abby Ryan has played in over 79 games, 54 of which have been wins. Ryan made the CCS All-Academic Team in 2023 and plans to graduate with a degree in nursing.
Senior Marissa Taghon has been a consistent starter for the Lions since her sophomore year, as well as making the All-Academic Team twice. She plans to graduate with a degree in nursing.
Senior Rylie Dingfelder has helped the team win two regular season titles, as well as the CCS Tournament Championship in 2023. She plans to graduate with a master’s in athletic training.
Senior Megan Zeldenrust scored her first career goal and delivered her first career assist in the same game in 2021. She plans to graduate with degrees in mathematics and business analytics.
Senior Haley Rizzo has appeared in 54 games for the lions, with 13 of her 17 starts coming from the 2023 season. She plans to graduate with a degree in exercise and sport science.
Volleyball
On Oct. 18, the Lions honored their seven seniors before their match against Agnes Scott. They won in three sets, crushing the Scotties.
Senior Reagan Mercado has totaled 45 kills and 24 digs in her career as a Lion. She plans to graduate in the fall of 2024 with a degree in psychology.
Senior Mary-Grace Shaw has totaled over 430 digs in her career with a career-high of 161 this season, and it is only going up. Shaw plans to graduate with degrees in accounting and business administration.
Senior Brooklyn Gunn has totaled over 750 assists and 48 aces in her career. At least 147 of her over 260 digs came from her 2022 season. Gunn plans to graduate with a degree in mathematics education.
Senior Alaina McDonald has 186 kills and 151 digs in her four seasons with the Lions. McDonald plans to graduate in May with a degree in nursing.
Senior Destiny Deetz has totaled 27 blocks so far in the 2023 season, placing her second on the team. She has 40 blocks and 92 kills in her career. She plans to graduate with a degree in healthcare administration.
Senior Taylor Herrmann earned the title of NCAA Statistical Champions in digs per set in 2022, with over 1100 digs in her career. She will graduate in fall of 2024 with a degree in forensic science.
Senior Jenna Ash leads the Lions with the most kills this season (187+) and has over 500 kills in her three seasons. She will graduate with a degree in biology.
