On Sept. 13, the Chick-fil-A in Cornelia announced they will be undergoing construction to upgrade their restaurant.
The store will expand its Drive-thru to add another canopy and have a greater capacity to serve its guests.
The drive-thru, dine-in, carry-out and curbside will all be unavailable until further notice. This, however, is not stopping the employees of Chick-fil-A from serving their guests.
Their hours of operation will be 11 AM-7 PM. An off-site sales tent is being set up in the Walmart parking lot, just behind the Chick-fil-A store, serving a limited menu. Chick-fil-A delivery will also be available, with menu offerings unavailable at the tent. Delivery fees have also been waived Sept. 18-30th.
Catering pick-up is still available and will be located behind the restaurant across from Furniture Plaza. They encourage guests to look for the catering pick-up signs.
Piedmont student and Chick-fil-A employee Leo Galarza says, “It affects me because it is where most of my income comes from to pay for my expenses. Especially because Piedmont only pays 7.25 an hour. It does affect other employees because it may also be where most of their income comes from.”
Chick-fil-A is hopeful to open their store back up to regular operating hours on Sept. 28th. Follow their Instagram page at “chickfilacornelia” for the most current updates.
