Hello amazing people! We, Matthew Kodrowski and Caden Nelms, are very excited to be your Editors-In-Chief of The Roar for the 2023-2024 year!
Our hope for this year is that you will come to us as a trusted source of information and entertainment that truly represents you, the students of Piedmont University. We want to continue providing the community with current news, as well as investigate the questions that you want answered. Our promise to you, the Piedmont community, is that we present the news to you in an honest, ethical, and timely manner.
From Caden: I have been a part of The Roar for five years. In that time, I have written stories ranging from news to opinions to features. I have pushed to get answers to questions that, previously, were not being answered. As an Editor-In-Chief, my goal is to further bridge the gap between students and faculty, staff and administration. I look forward to an amazing year full of stories and content for you, the amazing people at Piedmont University.
From Matt: I have seen this paper do amazing things over my time on campus. We have been the most reliable, representative voice of the students of Piedmont University. In three years, I’ve seen our articles change campus policy, promote change that benefits the students, and make your voices heard by faculty and administration. To our administration, we will always be honest with you. We will be respectful, but when we see something newsworthy or something that we feel does not put the students in mind, we will always be honest with you. We will celebrate you and what you do for us, for which we are all grateful for, even if we don’t always tell you. We, the Editors-in-Chief at The Roar, will be audacious, honest, and ethical. We will not defame or slander. We will not promote hateful thinking or behavior about our beloved institution. All of this comes with our responsibility as journalists, and we promise to utilize our power as a means of communication and promotion of good character towards all who are part of the Piedmont family.
We look forward to another great year of The Roar continuing to be the student news hub, but most importantly the student voice of Piedmont University.
