In the 2023 spring season, Piedmont Athletics teemed with success. We saw a grand total of five conference championship titles courtesy of Piedmont’s Men’s and Women’s Track and Field, Baseball, Women’s Tennis, and Women’s Cross Country.
There were two team NCAA tournament appearances by women’s tennis and men’s golf, Individually, there were 10 All-Region Performers, 13 USA South Athletes of the Week, 16 individual conference champions, 41 CCS Athletes of the Week, 48 CCS Academic All-District Performers, and 94 All-Conference Performers. These conference performers include 57 from the CCS, 24 swimmers, and 13 from the USA South.
Along with players and teams, there were six coaching awards for Teddy Guyer, Matt Williams, Trey Martin, JP Kircher and Jamie Jimison.
For individual awards, we saw Josh Hebrink crowned as the NCAA Individual National Champion for men’s golf. Hebrink and men’s golf teammate, Fred Roberts IV, were named as All-Americans as well. Roberts IV and Abbey Grace Venham both were crowned as CCS Conference Players of the Year. Lastly, Erin Donovan for Piedmont women’s golf took home the title of USA South Rookie of the Year.
