I’ve been a Dungeons & Dragons lover for a few years now, playing in a few campaigns here and there and following the ever-growing and popular D&D group, “Critical Role.” So when I saw a movie based on D&D, I was pretty excited, especially after seeing the cast. I’m a big fan of many of this movie’s main characters, like Chris Pine, Justice Smith and Sophia Lillis, to name a few.

The movie follows Edgin Darvis (Chris Pine) as he gathers a band of unlikely adventures to find a lost relic, and what follows is incredibly entertaining and not just for D&D lovers. This fun fantasy adventure is action-packed and fulfills that “found family” trope that so many love. If you have no idea what D&D is, that’s okay because it is not quintessential to understanding the plot. However, those who love D&D can appreciate the easter eggs and little things throughout the film.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film. The banter had me laughing, I was rooting for different characters and directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein nailed all the main themes on the head. Between the fantastic cast and CGI, this movie is an easy 10/10 experience.

See “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” in theaters near you today, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
