The Lady Lion’s basketball team is gearing up to begin their 2022-2023 season.

Last season, the Lady Lions did not hold back. The team went 21-6 overall and 13-2 in conference. They came up just short after losing in the USA South semifinal game against Southern Virginia University.

“This season I expect to see a lot of growth and hard work on our team,” says Junior Lu Woolfolk. “We have a lot of new members so it will be a teaching year, but we also have a lot of talent. When it comes to the freshman I see a lot of talent and potential in them. They work very hard, so I think they have a lot to bring to our team.

The Lady Lions are welcoming seven new freshmen to the squad. Hopefully with so many new players, the team will be able to strengthen certain positions on the court to help the team be more successful.

Coach Purdy will be looking for another winning season and will be fighting their way back to the top of the conference.

The Lady Lions will return to the court on Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. at Sewanee.
