Piedmont volleyball ended their last regular season game by dropping 3-0 in a match at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. Piedmont University men’s soccer team had a 2-1 loss at home to the sixth seeded Maryville College Scots in the CCS Quarterfinals, ending their season. A late Lions rally failed to stop the Scots, who scored twice in the second half. The Lions hammered away at the Scots’ keeper, while Maryville had multiple chances to score but hit the crossbar repeatedly. The Lions tried to make the late equalizer, but it was saved with just 10 seconds left on the clock. That marked the end of the 2023 season.
After losing 4-0 to Maryville in the CCS Semifinals, the Piedmont women’s soccer team 2023 season came to an end. The Scots scored a late goal in the first half and took a 2-0 lead into halftime. They also scored two more goals in the second half to double their lead. Senior Elissa Lotter and sophomore Christina Sierra recorded shots on goal for the Lions, with seven total shots. Your Lady Lions ended the season with a record of 10-7-5.
