Piedmont University’s Board of Trustees welcomed a new member and new policies after their fall meeting.
The Board of Trustees had their fall meeting on Friday, October 20th. The board looked through new policies. Some policies included approval of a master’s in science in Management, the approval of December 2023 Graduates as well as approval of policy and procedures within that category; this involves revision to transient permission policy and withdrawal policy, agency / custodial funds (student and faculty organizations), partisan political activity policy, HIPPA privacy policy, protection of minors policy, private property rights, reporting and retaliation policy, progressive discipline policy, travel and vehicle policy update, university volunteer and voter leave policy. These policies are just some of the many that the Board of Trustees approved.
Something else new is the newest addition to the board, Kanler Cumbass. Cumbass is a Piedmont alum who got his Bachelor of Arts – BA, History and Political Science; while at Piedmont, he was a student-athlete and was involved within the Piedmont campus. With Cumbass on the board, there is a fresh eye from the students’ perspective in play in these meetings, as there are more to come. Our board of trustees has always tried to look for the best for the university so that these new policies will come into play, and we, as the Piedmont community, will see their results.
