The latest album…er um… “playlist” from the OVO Founder is a great step in the right direction from his last very underwhelming project, “Views.” On “Views,” it felt like Drake was trying to get the whole album on the Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest.

Almost every song had very generic lyrics, not anything special that we had seen on Drake’s earlier projects and he went more the way of pop instead of actual rap. Don’t get me started with “Hotline Bling.” Drake redeemed himself with his latest album, “More Life.”

We get the very clever lines like the ones we got from, “If You’re Reading This it’s Too Late,” the soft love songs we got from “Take Care” and the rap hits we got from “Nothing Was The Same.” Drake took everything that made him great from every album he’s produced and put it on one playlist. He has some great collabrations with Quavo, 2 Chainz and Sampha as well as new collabs like Jorja Smith, british rapper Giggs, and Young Thug.

Here are some recommendations from “More Life:” For some old school Drake, listen to “Do Not Disturb” or “Lose You.” If you’re looking to turn up with your friends, listen to “Portland” featuring Quavo and Travis Scott. If you’re feeling tropical, listen to “Passionfruit” or “Madiba Riddim.” If you’re looking to cry over a tub of ice cream and call up your ex, listen to “Teenage Fever.” If you’re looking to get pumped up before a game, or at the gym, listen to “KMT” featuring Giggs. For you pop Drake lovers out there, you can get your fix on “Fake Love.” Finally, if you’re looking for some inspiration, listen to “Glow” featuring Kanye West.

Drake really went the distance not fourth and inches (see “Lose You.”) Overall, I give “More Life” 8 stars out of 10.
