The Piedmont College softball team came away with a pair of victories in a double header on Thurs., March 17 against Pomona-Pitzer College. The Lady Lions won 3-1 in the first game and captured a 7-2 victory in the second. Third-year pitcher Sarah Walker earned the win for the first game, giving her an 8-4 record with a 3.14 ERA.

First-year pitcher Melissa Eckman pitched three innings, receiving the win for the second game; she surrendered five hits and just one run. Third-year infielder/ pitcher Avery Migues relieved for three innings, only giving up one hit. First-year catcher Josie Coker earned her first career homerun and scoring three runs in the bottom of the first of the second game.

Sacrificial bunts from multiple players pushed multiple runners to a position where they were able to score, ultimately winning the game for the Lions.
