Piedmont athletics now streaming online

The Piedmont Athletics department is now broadcasting select sporting events online. The feature is on a pay-per-view basis, and is available for select fall sporting events.

The account is set up through over the web care of the All-Access feature provided by Sidearm Sports, Piedmont’s internet partner since 2007.

Video broadcasts are available through four types of packages for fans to purchase. Both a 24-hour, $5.95, and a three-day, $6.95, package is available for specific upcoming events.

Also, a monthly reoccurring subscription is available for $9.95 per month and is an automatically renewing package month to month, but can be cancelled at any time.

Finally, a yearly pass is available for $79.95 which allows fans to access all video content and archived material.

Outdoor broadcasts on the lacrosse and soccer field at Walker Athletic Complex are subject to inclement weather.

Sophomore soccer player Kenneth Hearn said, “My parents have used the feature.  It’s expensive, but they like it.”

The cost has also been a complaint from sophomore volleyball player Xandy Green’s parents.

Green said, “My parents have not used the feature because they don’t want to pay for it.”

Fans can access the new video broadcasts by going to the Piedmont Athletics website and choosing “Live Video and Audio Broadcasts” under the “All-Access” tab on the homepage.

Hearn said, “The quality of the video is not bad from what I have heard.”

Links on each team’s schedule page at piedmontlions.com will be provided for the games that live video is offered.
